Parkway Schools Partners with CareATC and Wins Health Culture Award

St. Louis, MO – Parkway School District partnered with CareATC, Inc., a national healthcare innovator, in July 2018. Within 16 months Parkway Schools received the Business Health Culture Award, presented by the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition. The Business Health Coalition has over 70 employer members and centers its work on providing resources and educational opportunities to enhance the well-being of employees and the quality of their investments in health benefits. “As a BHC member and local employer, Parkway Schools has consistently demonstrated itself as a leader in advancing well-being in the workplace and in our community,” explained Louise Probst, Executive Director of the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition. “Through its holistic educational programming, benefits, and policies, Parkway Schools is supporting the physical, mental, emotional, financial, and social factors that impact health and happiness on a daily basis.” Parkway Schools is the only recipient of this honor in 2019.

The Business Health Culture Award recognizes organizations for their innovative and comprehensive approaches to improving the well-being of employees and their family members. “We are honored to be selected for this award. We place tremendous value on the health and wellness of our employees and the direct impact it has on our youth and their experience in the classroom,” states Patty Bedborough, Chief Financial Officer of Parkway Schools.

Parkway Schools selected CareATC to implement a shared-site clinic structure for its 2,500 employees and their dependents. The shared-site clinic structure utilizes multiple clinics to provide primary care, preventive health screenings, disease management and lifestyle education for improved productivity and to decrease employee absenteeism. A core component of CareATC’s proactive approach to healthcare is the annual Personal Health Assessment which serves as a building block for patient health and provides participants with a comprehensive health summary.

“Our goal for primary care is to remove barriers that prevent individuals from seeking care and staying healthy. Parkway Schools know that keeping their workforce healthy ensures a vibrant school environment which maximizes learning opportunities for students,” says Carol Cox, Vice President, Business Development of CareATC.

CareATC is the first provider of on-site clinics to achieve 100% network accreditation from the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC), earn the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation from the EDAC™ Advisory Council and be Net Promoter®Certified.
