5 Ways to Reduce Workplace Distraction Without Treating Employees Like Children | Ginger Sullivan | HR Insights blog by CareATC, Inc.Surprise, surprise: cell phones, the internet, and gossip can distract people in the workplace. With so many ways for workers to waste time, it's important for employers to find ways to drum up productivity.

But how can this be accomplished without being comdescending or...you know...lame?

Turns out, there are many ways.

  1. Provide time for collaboration and privacy. Accomplishment can thrive in both settings, but workers languish when they have too much of one or the other.
  2. Allow freedom of movement. If an employee is able to do his or her work from a location other than a cubicle, let it happen.
  3. Try out wearable tech for productivity and goal setting.
  4. Use productivity apps which help employees time and visualize their work progress.
  5. Create stress-relief programming in the workplace.

If you get it right, productivity can improve greatly.
