Mental health problems are incredibly diverse. In most cases, a mentally ill person in crisis may have difficulty paying the high costs of therapy or counseling.

- Many group therapy options are available today, sometimes proving more effective than one-on-one care, and are available at a fraction of the cost.
- Some therapists provide one-on-one care on a sliding scale, charging only what you can afford.
