FDA Reform, Privacy Law Standards Needed in Next Healthcare Overhaul, Group Says | Jeremy Cavness | Employer Healthcare Strategies blog by CareATC, Inc.The Healthcare Leadership Council is an independent coalition of healthcare executives and leaders. They work to inform the powers that be of key legislative moves which could improve the American healthcare system.

This year, they have 6 key recommendations for the White House. One such recommendation is Interoperability, or the sharing of patient healthcare information between different organizations for maximum benefit to the individual.

The organization calls for reduced administrative burden for the FDA, so it has more resources for the facilitation of better treatments and medications. The group also calls for further regulations targeting physician fraud, related to physician self-referral and financial kickbacks.

These recommendations touch on many aspects of the healthcare system, and a careful reading will be illuminating for anyone hoping for transformative action within the American healthcare landscape.
