It's Mental Health month for the United States. You may have heard about the mental health reform bill which enjoys bipartisan support in the Senate, but has yet to be voted upon.
With 1 in 5 Americans suffering from mental health troubles, and national suicide rates at a 30-year high, it's clear that reform is needed.
The current bill would bring about a lot of change: Authorize suicide prevention programs, add more workers to the mental health field, make mental health insurance more robust, create intervention programs, integrate primary and mental heathlcare, and empower community crisis programs.
Interested parties are urged to contact state Senators and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who is able to bring the popular bill up for a vote.
