It's not uncommon for the American healthcare system to be referred to as "a broken system." (Think about it for a moment... If the system wasn't "broken," we wouldn't feel the need to reform and "fix" it.)
Though identifying a single cause for the problems isn't possible, a few core issues include an increasing number of unhealthy Americans, barriers to quality medical care, and a misaligned provider reimbursement system. These issues, along with many more, are creating an unsustainable healthcare delivery system, and something needs to be done about it.
