Morning Detox Smoothie [Recipe]

While you sleep soundly in bed at night, your liver is working hard to filter toxins from your body.

Why not continue the process with a morning detox smoothie?!

With a base of dark leafy greens, this smoothie is already nutrient packed! Make it a detoxifying breakfast by adding cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, cayenne, lemon or Brazil nuts!

Each ingredient brings a unique benefit to the glass:

  • Lemon – provides antioxidants, aids digestion, and boosts metabolism
  • Cinnamon – naturally stabilizes blood sugar, working to balance the fruit sugars in the smoothie
  • Cayenne Pepper – stimulates the metabolism and boosts the immune system, while fighting inflammation in the body
  • Ginger – stimulates digestion, assists in the body’s natural cleansing process, and reduces inflammation
  • Turmeric – acts as an antioxidant powerhouse
  • Brazil Nuts – provides selenium, an important nutrient for healthy thyroid function. The thyroid is the small gland located at the base of your neck, which regulates your metabolism.

Ingredients

  • 1 small banana
  • ½ cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1.5-2 cups kale
  • ½ a lemon, juiced
  • Chia seeds for topping

Detoxing Additions: cayenne pepper, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, brazil nuts

Directions: Simply toss all ingredients in a high speed blender, pour, and enjoy!
